Paul Stinson starts his fourth season leading the Bryn Mawr soccer program in the fall of 2019. He was named the sixth head coach in recorded history of the Bryn Mawr soccer program in the summer of 2016.

Coach Stinson came to the Greater Philly area in August 2012. Formerly an Assistant Coach at Haverford College with the men’s program, he helped guide the squad to an Elite 8 appearance in 2015, with a perfect Centennial Conference mark of 9-0 (regular season) and 2-0 (Centennial Tournament). He was also part of a second round appearance in the 2012 NCAA Tournament and a Centennial Conference tournament title. The 2012 NCAA appearance was the first in 30 years for the Fords, and the tournament title was the team’s first since the conference’s inception.

Including his experience at Haverford, Coach Stinson has 16 years experience at the college level as both an assistant and head coach at the NCAA Division I & III levels with both men’s and women’s programs: Assistant Women’s coach at Clarkson University (2 years) in NCAA Division III; Women’s Head Coach Colby-Sawyer College (4 years), also NCAA Division III; and Assistant Coach for both Men and Women at Colgate University (5 years) in NCAA Division I. He also worked for one year at the NJCAA Division I level (two-year program with scholarships) at Iowa Central Community College as an assistant for both the men’s and women’s teams.

At the youth level, Coach Stinson worked with New Hampshire ODP (3 years), served as the Odyssey Sport SC Boy’s Director of Coaching (5 years), and Lower Merion SC. He currently coaches the Continental FC U17 NPL girls team, and the USSF Development Academy GKs (boys). He also works with the GDP staff at YSC/Union Juniors.

Coach Stinson’s college teams have appeared in the NCAA tournament 4 times (twice in Division I, twice in Division III) won NJCAA Region 11 titles (1 men’s & 1 women’s); three Patriot League regular season titles (‘09, ‘10, ‘11; 2 women’s, 1 men’s), two Patriot League tournament titles (1 men’s - 2011 & 1 women’s - 2009), and 2 Centennial Conference tournament title (2012 & 2015) as well as 2 Centennial regular season titles in 2013 and 2015. Haverford also had a tournament final appearance in 2014, losing 1-0 to a Muhlenberg team that made the Sweet 16.

Coach Stinson graduated from Kenyon College in 2000 with a BA in Sociology and a three year career on the field. He holds a “C” license through the USSF and is completing a Masters Degree in Leadership at Duquesne University.
