Chris Leonard has joined Bryn Mawr College Soccer as an Assistant Coach, with special attention for targeted projects including mental performance and organizing and running BMC Soccer clinics. In addition to coaching at Bryn Mawr College, Chris has been coaching youth soccer (8 to 16 years old) in Southeastern Pennsylvania since 2004 including High School and travel soccer. Chris’ background in the study of Management and experience in surviving in the tech start-up world along with his passion for the field of mental performance will help create a winning culture and mindset among the Bryn Mawr soccer players.
In 2012, Chris coached the LMSC Dynamite U-12 girls team to the Philadelphia Area Girls Soccer League championship. The team was undefeated, and also champions of the 2012 Welsh Cup "Silver Division." Chris excels as a developmental coach who consistently prepares players for promotion to higher levels of play. He holds a Junior Level V Diploma for coaches from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
In addition to coaching, Chris works for Microshare, Inc., a global software start-up based in Philadelphia. Chris is a Philadelphia native, raised in Spring House, PA. He graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1988, majoring in Management. A fluent Spanish speaker, he raised his children, Axel (Academy of Art University, Class of 2019), and, Mia (The New School, class of Class of 2021) in Buenos Aires Argentina. Later moving back to Lower Merion Township, both graduated from nearby Harriton High School. Chris and his family lived in Buenos Aires from 2000 to 2004. All members of his family are fans of Boca Juniors, Lionel Messi, the Argentine National teams and USA soccer.
