Travis Galaska was named the Bryn Mawr College Athletic Communications Director in August of 2014.
“I'm tremendously excited to be able to join the great team of coaches and administrators who make up the department,” said Galaska. “It’s an honor to have the opportunity to support and promote Bryn Mawr’s student-athletes and their achievements.”
“I am thrilled that Travis will be joining us as the new Athletic Communication Director. He has a strong work ethic and passion for the student athlete experience, and will be a wonderful addition to our department,” said Kathy Tierney, Director of Athletics.
Galaska comes to Bryn Mawr from Penn State Abington, where he had served as the Assistant Sports Information Director since August of 2012. Prior to that, he served as an intern at Maryville College (Tenn.) while receiving his master’s degree in sport management from the University of Tennessee. He got his start in the athletic communications world during his time as an undergraduate student at Messiah College, where he covered the national championship-winning men’s soccer program and did some radio broadcasting for the men’s and women’s basketball teams.
As the Athletic Communications Director, Galaska will be responsible for all aspects of athletics communications, with a strong emphasis on maintaining the athletics department website and its presence on social media. Other responsibilities include creating game programs, handling media requests, and writing press releases.
Travis resides in Souderton, Pa. with his wife Katie.
