Kyle's CC Scholar-Athlete of the Year Selection Headlines Bryn Mawr's Spring Academic Honors

Kylie Woo, Anna Kyle, and Francesca Caramazza headline 2019 Centennial Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Centennial Conference announced their 2019 spring academic honors on Thursday, and Bryn Mawr student-athletes were heavily featured throughout the list thanks to some hard work both in the classroom and on the competition surface. Overall, 14 Owls were named to the conference's Academic Honor Roll. Anna Kyle headlines the spring honorees, as thanks to her performances both in conference championships and in the classroom, she was named the league's 2019 Women's Outdoor Track & Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Only one student-athlete across the entire Centennial Conference earns Scholar-Athlete of the Year status in each sport. The highest combination of academic and athletic success in the league, Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors are awarded in each sport to a member of the junior or senior class with the highest cumulative GPA who also earned All-Centennial Conference honors. Kyle's fabulous performance in the 3000 meter steeplechase at the Centennial Conference Championship, where she earned second place in the race, got her Second Team All-Centennial Conference honors. Combine that with her tremendous achievement in the rigorous academic setting of Bryn Mawr College and Kyle has definitely earned the title of Scholar-Athlete of the Year for her sport. Kyle is the first Bryn Mawr student-athlete to receive this honor in league history.

To be nominated for the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing and hold a cumulative GPA of 3.40 or higher. To be named Academic All-Centennial, a student-athlete must receive both All-Conference and Academic Honor Roll honors. Kyle also earns this Academic All-Centennial recognition thanks to her appearance on both honors lists this spring.

The Owls outdoor track & field team led the way for the spring sports total, featuring eight student-athletes on the league's Academic Honor Roll. Bryn Mawr's lacrosse team featured four student-athletes on the list, while two Bryn Mawr tennis student-athletes earned honors as well. Overall, 699 spring season student-athletes from around the conference were recognized on the Academic Honor Roll, while 129 student-athletes were named Academic All-Centennial.
