NEWVILLE, Pa. - The Bryn Mawr Cross Country team had a successful day at the 2018 Dickinson Long/Short Invitational, highlighted by junior Anna Kyle who led the Owls in their second meet of the season. The Owls put together great runs in both the 6k and 4k races. In the 6k the Owls took home a 4th place finish and beat out Gettysburg College. Together the Owls garnered up a total of 176 points in the meet for a combined 6th place finish overall.
In the 6K Anna Kyle clocked in a time of 25:03 and finished just outside the top 10. Not far behind her was freshman Emma Fiorini who ran a PR of 25:14 for 15th overall. Emily George (26:50), Campbell Powell (27:05), and Sarah Keane (27:21, also a PR) rounded out the top five finishes for the Owls. Senior Captain Allegra Wham (28:15) also PR'd on the course, along with first years Carey Parker (27:35), Amelia McDonnell (27:44), Zoe Shinefield (29:26), and Hannah Stanley (29:36).
The Owls sent out a smaller group to race in the 4k course however Haley Varnum (17:11), cracked the top 50 with a 46th place finish. Emily Haller (19:15) paced Brooke Barton (19:05) to a new PR as well. And Rose Arasa finished her first collegiate race in a PR time of 21:30.
Next up, Bryn Mawr will compete at the Owls Open hosted at the Rose Tree Park on Friday, September 28th. Start time is set for 4:30 PM
