NEWVILLE, Pa. - The Bryn Mawr Cross Country team concluded their 2017-2018 season earlier saturday afternoon at the NCAA MidEast Regional Championship hosted by Dickinson College. The Owls earned a 25th place finish overall in a packed meet with 63 teams in attendance.
Junior Kate Edwards led the Owls with a 31st place finish, a sixth all time finish for the Owls. Edwards put together a strong race from start to finish, clocking in a time of 23:10.8. A huge improvement for the senior runner as she chipped away nearly 8 seconds from her time at this meet last year. Her 31st place finish secured her a spot on the All-Region Championship team.
Chelsea Thangavelu and Anna Kyle were the next two to cross the line for the Owls. Thangavelu posted a time of 24:26.9 in the event to take 102nd overall, way better than her 176 place finish last year. Anna Kyle followed close behind in 109th place with a PR of 24:32.7.
Emily George was the next finisher for Bryn Mawr, posting a 189th place finish in a time of 25:53.5 another huge PR for the Owls. Campbell Powell rounded out the top five finishers for the Owls with a 225th place finish in a time of 26:45.9. Emily Haller concluded her season on a high note as she also clocked in a new PR of 25:54.6, good for a 234th place finish overall. Shannon Fisher was the last to cross the line for the Owls coming in at 28:51.2.
With the finish Bryn Mawr wraps up another very successful cross country season. Many of these Owls will continue on into the winter season as members of the indoor track and field team.
