LEXINGTON, Ky. - The American Volleyball Coaches Association has announced the programs that have earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2019-20 season, and Bryn Mawr has once again been named as an honoree, this time for the sixth consecutive year.
Bryn Mawr was one of 231 NCAA Division III women's teams to be bestowed with this honor. The Owls have earned this recognition for a sixth straight season and for the eleventh year since 2005-06.
The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale. This year, a record 1315 collegiate and high school teams earned the award, breaking the previous high from last year by almost 200 programs.
