Bryn Mawr Volleyball Battles Back Against Muhlenberg

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Bryn Mawr Volleyball team was back in action Wednesday evening for another conference match, this time taking on Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The Owls put up a strong effort throughout the entire game however it was the Muhlenberg Mules who came out on top and claimed a 3-0 victory. Junior Camille Baechler led the Owls with 8 digs, two kills and one serving ace. On the other side, Muhlenberg was led by 13 kills from Maggie Enestvedt in the match.

Muhlenberg started the game out very strong thanks to two strong kills from outside hitter Maggie Enestedt. The Owls found themselves quickly down 6-1. However in response, a kill from Sienna Burnett set by Delia Landers gave the Owls their initial spark of energy and set the precedent for the match (2-6). The Mules continued to battle back and slowly widen the gap. Nevertheless the Owls continued to respond. A kill from Camille Baechler kept the Owls in the game until the Mules went on a an 11 point run to close out the set 25-12.

Bryn Mawr fell behind early in the second frame, and before they knew it they found themselves trailing 11-2. Serving aces from Sienna Burnett and Nolan Julien and errors on behalf of Muhlenberg kept the Owls in the game. However, yet again it was Muhlenberg who quickly closed out the frame 25-10.

Muhlenberg came out strong in the third set as well taking another early 10-1 lead over the Owls. A block by Sienna Burnett and Jessie DeJoie followed by three errors on behalf of Muhlenberg slowed down the Mules moment and allowed the Owls to close the gap 5-11. The teams rallied back and forth. A kill from Camille Baechler followed by a later kill from Nolan Julien gave the Owls hope, however it was the Mules who came out on top and won the match.

The Owls will be back in action this Friday for another Centennial Conference match on their home court against McDaniel College at 7 PM.
