PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -  Three athletes from the Bryn Mawr Track and field team took a short trip into Philadelphia for the 124th Penn Relays, a prestigious three day track meet hosted at the University of Pennsylvania. After day one of competition the Owls come out strong and anticipate day two.

Natalia Phillip was one of the two Owls in competition for day one, competing in the discus throw. In a field full of top throwers from across the nation Phillip landed a best throw of 35.95m.

In the 3000 the Owls saw Kate Edwards post an outdoor PR, crossing the line at 10:30.17 and becoming the second fastest outdoor 3k runner in Bryn Mawr history. While doing so, Edwards split her mile PR in the event and competed against runners from top Division 1 schools including Rutgers, Providence and Temple University.

Rachel Greene will be the last of the Owls to compete at Penn Relays on Friday April 27th.

Greene would go on to set new record in the triple jump on day two of the 124th Penn Relays.
