Greene Claims New Record At Gettysburg

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - 12 members of the Bryn Mawr Track and Field team traveled to the historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania for the Gettysburg Invitational. The Owls placed sixth out of 11 teams and scored total of 69 points. The top four performances for the Owls came from Rachel Greene, Natalia PhillipTahawney Terrell and Chelsea Thangavelu.

Rachel Greene led the way for the Owls with her new Triple Jump record. Greene recorded a best of 10.95m and finished second overall in the event. Greene was also consisted in the long jump and put together a best mark of 4.99m. Tahawney Terrell crushed the 400m (62.71s, 6th place) after a PR in the 100m dash (13.64).

Chelsea Thangavelu dropped another 7 seconds off her 5k PR from 2 weeks ago and finished 6th overall (19:08). Emily Darrow and Emily George walked away with PR's in the event as well finishing in 22:01 and 23:01 respectively.

Jennica Terry won the hurdles (15.13) and lowered her 200m season best to 26.91. Haley Varnum recorded a season best in the 400m hurdles and finished fifth overall (1:13.04).

Olivia Brintlinger-Conn PRd in her debut in Javelin and Natalia Phillip put up a season best in Shot Put (11.98m), good enough for 2nd. Phillip also won the discus throw (36.67m) in a competitive field of 25 competitors which included a tough conference competitor fron Gettysburg College.  Halena Martin had a PR in Hammer while landing a best throw of 32.46 which was good for a fourth place finish.

The Owls will be back in action Monday afternoon at 3:30 PM for the Haverford Invitational.
