Another Day, Another School Record

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – As the 2014 Centennial conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships wrapped-up Sunday afternoon, another school record fell, this time it was the 1500m run.

Junior Claudia Keep continued to lower her own school record in the 1500m run as she posted a 4:40.46, more than a second faster than her previous mark. Keep ended-up finishing 7th in the race. This was Keep's second school record in three days as she lowered her own mark in the 10K Friday evening.

In the 4x100, the team of senior Rachael Kahelin, sophomore Yue Yang, junior Tonja Nixon and freshman Ann Lin had a mishap on an exchange which resulted in a DQ. However, the 4x400m relay of junior Elaine Schmidt, sophomore Alex Beda, Yang and Keep concluded the weekend by posting a 4:28.68, a season best for the team.

Bryn Mawr ended the weekend finished in 10th place with 25 points. Johns Hopkins won the conference title with 225.50 points.

A handful of Owls will return to Swarthmore track on Monday, May 12, for the Tuppany Twilight Last Chance Meet.
