Bryn Mawr Gets Indoor Season Rolling at Haverford Holiday Invite

Zaynah Moen preps to throw shot at the Haverford Holiday Invite 12/7/19

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Bryn Mawr track & field squad got their indoor season fully underway earlier Saturday morning by taking part in the Haverford Holiday Invitational. Jennica Terry helped pace the Owls thanks to a big win in the 60 meter hurdles, while Kass Wojcik also claimed a victory in the 400 meter dash.

Terry qualified for Conferences in all three of her events on the day. The junior won the hurdles with a time of 9.40. She then went on to claim second in the 60 meter dash (8.14s) and fourth in the 200 meter dash (28.26).

Wojcik's win in the 400 came thanks to a very impressive early-season time of 1:02.83.

Dorian Alexis took third in the mile run on the day with a strong time of 5:41.72. Alexis led most of the way in that event, but a strong final push from two of her opponents forced her to settle for third. However, that time was good enough to qualify her for Conferences in the event. Carey Parker (6:07.73) and Brooke Barton (6:25.69) also set personal records in the mile. Parker led out her heat and put on a critical surge in the middle of the race to keep everyone on track.

Zaynah Moen put on quite the showing in her team debut, as the junior made the finals in the shot put. Moen set a new personal record with a throw of 7.39 meters to take ninth place. Alexis Boutchie also set a new PR in the event with a long of 6.97m.

Back in the 60 meter dash, Rebecca Britt (10.19) and Emily Britt (10.58) each set new PRs.

The Owls will be right back in action next weekend, as the team will head to the Wagner College Shootout on Staten Island.
