Terry Wins 60 Meter Hurdles And Breaks Own Record

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Bryn Mawr Owls were back in action earlier Saturday afternoon for one last tune-up before the Centennial Conference Championships next weekend. Freshman Jennica Terry was amongst the many Owls to prove they are ready to take on the championships as she broke her own school record in the 60 meter hurdles Saturday.

The freshman began her day by clocking in a huge PR in the 60 meters hurdles. Her time of 9.21 broke her own school record set earlier this season and landed her, her first collegiate win. Jennica Terry's day was not complete after the hurdles, she was also a contestant in the 60 meter dash where she ran a time of 8.15, finishing in second overall, just .01 seconds behind the first place finisher.

Natalia Phillip began her day throwing a season best of 11.85 in the shot put making her way into finals. In finals she posted a throw of 12.06, earned a second place finish and nearly broke her own school record, missing the mark by just inches.

Emily Haller was the sole Owl in the mile run. Haller posted a 15th place finish in a time of 6:01.24.

Haley Varnum ran the top time for Bryn Mawr in the 400m, finishing in a time of 1:06.08. Her time in today's meet is a season best for the junior and will qualify her for the Centennial Conference Championships. Olivia Brintlinger-Conn (1:08.02) and Georgia Nelson (1:09.86) were also in the event finishing in 15th and 19th respectively.

In the 800 it was Anna Kyle who finished 6th for the Owls clocking in a time of 2:28.57. Emily Williams was also in the event and ran a season best of 2:37.83.

Tahawney Terrell posted a 10th place finish in the 200 at 28.15.

The Owls will be in action next weekend at the Centennial Conference Championships. This year's championships will be hosted by Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pa. Events will begin Saturday Feburary 24th 12 PM.
