WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - With students back in session from their winter break this week, the Bryn Mawr track and field team was back in action for their first meet of the new year. The Owls sent Natalia Phillip over to Monmouth University to open the Monmouth Winter Collegiate Invitational on Friday night, as the sophomore took part in the weight throw.
With a season-best mark of 12.03 meters earlier this season in the event, Phillip came into tonight and went right back to work. The Boston native made finals in the event and went on to top her previous season-high by over a full meter. Phillip ultimately took sixth place with a long of 13.09 meters on the night.
The Owls will be right back in action tomorrow for day two of the event, with several more team members in action as Bryn Mawr works their way out of the holiday break.
