SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Bryn Mawr track and field team was back in action Friday night at the always-popular Susquehanna Invitational. The Owls went out and set numerous "bests" on the night in yet another solid performance. Senior Prerana Vaddi led the way with a new PR to help Bryn Mawr make great strides on the evening.
Vaddi's new personal record came in the 400 meter dash. The senior set a new indoor PR by placing second in her heat with a time of 1:08.82.
Fellow senior Margaret Patchin set a season-best time in the mile run with a time of 7:44.90. Fellow Owl Allegra Wham had a great performance of her own in the event, taking seventh in her heat with a time of 6:32.89.
In the 60 meter hurdles, senior Marissa Mirecki posted a great time of 11.43 seconds.
Freshmen Katie Billings and Caitlin Roa would each compete in both the 60 meter dash and the 200 meter dash. In the 60, Billings took fourth in her heat with a new personal best time of 8.87 seconds, while Roa earned a fifth-place finish in her heat with a time of 10.39. Later on in the 200, Roa claimed fourth in her heat in a personal best time of 35.83, while Billings netted herself a third-place spot in her heat with a time of 32.01.
Bryn Mawr closed out their participation in the meet with two solid 3ks from Kate Edwards and Sophie Webb. Edwards took 12th place overall with a time of 11:16.18 in the distance, while Webb came in just a few places later with a time of 12:14.19.
The Owls will have the weekend off before returning to action on Monday afternoon for the Haverford Dual-Meet, slated to start at 4:30 PM.
