COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The 2012-13 Bryn Mawr College indoor track and field season has come to an end with the completion of the Centennial Conference Championships that were held Saturday at Ursinus College.
The Owls were led on the day by senior Kristina Kronauer. Kronauer took home 4th place in the 5k by running a season best team tie of 18:05.37. Her time is also a personal best in the 5K for Kronauer for indoors.
Sophomore Claudia Keep ran in the 3K and mile run. In the 3K, Keep posted a 10:24.96 good for 5th place while her time of 5:16 in mile good for 7th. Her time in the 3K was a season best time for the team.
Freshman Alex Beda ran the 800m with a time of 2:33.78 en route to a 15th place finish. Her time was a not only a season best, but also a personal best.
In addition to the individual performances, every relay set a new season best time. The 4x200 relay of freshmen Ola Madamidola, senior Rachel Shen, freshman Tehzeeb Tyebjee and freshman Zhen Xu ran to a 2:08.31. The 4x400 team of freshmen Lauren Dana, Yamina Mohattane, Yue Yang and junior Rachael Kahelin posted a time of 5:11.05.
In the 4x800 race, the team of Beda, Keep and Kronauer and sophomore Elaine Schmidt ran a 10:23.16 while the distance medley relay of sophomores Rachel Hager and Kim Wiley, freshman Hannah Hastings and junior Victoria Travis posted a time of 14:16.92.
Bryn Mawr took home 10th place with 12 team points, one behind McDaniel. Winning the 2013 Centennial Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships was Johns Hopkins followed by Muhlenberg, Haverford, Ursinus, Dickinson, F&M, Swarthmore and Gettysburg.
