Rodgers Sets New School Record in Pentathlon at Centennial Conference Championships

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Senior Sarajane Rodgers broke her own school record in the pentathlon with 1447 points in opening day action of the 2013 Centennial Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Ursinus College.

Rodgers finished 19th overall in the five-event competition. She got the pentathlon started by running a season best in the 60m hurdles with a time of 13.13. She turned around and jumped 1.26 (4'1.5"), a personal best, in the high jump.

In the shot put, Rodgers heaved her toss 5.88m (19'03.5"). Her next event, the long jump, was a solid performance by jumping 3.50 (11'05.75") despite not touching the board.

Rodgers ended the pentathlon in a big way in the 800m run. She ran a 2:59.08 en route to setting a new personal best time.

The Owls will travel to Ursinus tomorrow for the annual championships.
