Track and Field Hits Their Stride at Keogh Invitational

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr College track and field team travel to rival Haverford College for the annual Keogh Invitational Friday afternoon.

Sophomore Tehzeeb Tyebjee set a new personal best time of 9.33 by knocking off 3/10ths of a second in the 60m. She doubled-back in the 200m and sprinted to a 30.60 where set bested her previous time in the event by 2/10ths of a second.

Also in the 200m, freshman Alex Beda posted a career best time with a 30.13 as she placed 14th overall. Sophomore Elaine Schmidt ran a season-best time of 1:08.97 in the 400m and 2:43.98 in the 800m. In the 800m, Adrienne Baugher stands made it three weeks in a row with a personal best time of 2:59.94 while take nearly 20 seconds off her previous time.

in the shot put, freshman Ola Madamidola heaved a huge PR by adding over a full meter for a distance of 7.36m. Senior Alliya Akhtar posted a season best and an indoor personal best with a 5.94m heave.

In hurdles, senior Rachel Rivenburg returned to action by posting an 8th place finish with a season-best time of 11.95 while freshman Zhen Xu ran a time of 13.87.

The Owls return to action on Saturday, Feb. 23, as they travel to Ursinus College for the 2013 Centennial Conference Championships.
