LANCASTER, Pa. - The Centennial Conference announced their 2019 All-Centennial Conference selections Thursday afternoon, with and Bryn Mawr made some history with the news. Two Owls - first-years Amalia Parrish and Audrey Camacho - earned First-Team All-Centennial Conference singles and doubles honors after incredible performances in 2019. Those mark the first First Team All-Conference selections in the history of the Bryn Mawr tennis program.
The Owls tennis team won nine matches in 2019, their most victories in a single season since the 1982-83 campaign. A big part of Bryn Mawr's improvement this season was the performances of Parrish and Camacho. At first singles, Parrish tied for the second-most wins and the third-highest winning percentage in Centennial Conference play. She ended the year with a combined 26-8 overall record. Camacho was equally dominant at second singles for the Owls, as she tied fo the most wins and recorded the second-highest winning percentage in conference play, and she wrapped up the year with a combined 26-6 overall record.
Already, both Parrish and Camacho sit in the top 12 in career singles victories in the Owls record books.
The two Owls are the first First Team All-Conference selections for Bryn Mawr, and the first All-Conference selections since Lizzie Siegle earned her way onto the squad in back-to-back seasons in 2016-17.
The Owls do not graduate any seniors after their impressive 2019 season, so they look to be well-positioned to continue their growth in 2020!
