BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr College tennis team earned their second Centennial Conference win of the season in dominating fashion as they shutout McDaniel 9-0 Saturday afternoon.
The afternoon got underway as the Owls swept doubles action led by the No. 2 duo of senior Jenny Vogel and sophomore Melina Koukoutchos. Vogel/Koukoutchos defeated Laura Pollard and Angie Johnson 8-1. The third tandem of sophomores Kendall Baller and Tirsa Delate won 8-2 over Nina Breece and Nicole Arnold.
Vogel, playing No. 2 singles, blanked Pollard 6-0, 6-0, to give the Owls the 1-0 lead in singles action. In the 4th position, Koukoutchos won 6-2, 6-0, over Danielle Cloney, while Baller won by the same score over Nicole Arnold, in the fifth spot.
In the top spot, Chen won her match over Schauer 6-0, 6-4, as Perocchi downed O'Meara 6-3, 6-1, from the second slot. In the No.6 position, Delate defeated Johnson 6-2, 6-1.
The Owls are back to action when they host Ursinus on Wednesday, April 23, at 4:00 pm on Senior Day.
