Tennis Serves-Up 8-1 Win

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – In their third match in four days, the Bryn Mawr College tennis team defeated visiting Neumann University 8-1 in non-conference action Monday afternoon.

The Owls got the day off started right as they Yellow and white swept doubles action. The No. 1 tandem of senior Vivien Chen and Eliza Perocchi cruised by Bre Klar and Sarah Schroeder 8-4 while the No. 2 team comprised of seniors Catherine Austin and Jenny Vogel picked-up an 8-2 win.

From the third doubles spot, sophomore classmates Kendall Baller and Molly MacDougall earned an 8-5 win over Cherie Allen and Talene Brinker.

With the 3-0 lead, the Owls were in control of the match as Singles action started. Chen, playing in the No. 1 spot, defeated Klar 6-2, 6-3, while Vogel topped Schroeder 6-4, 6-0.

In the singles quickest match, Perocchi rolled to the 6-0, 6-1, victory while Austin won 6-2, 6-0, from the No. 5 position. In the Sixth spot, sophomore Tirsa Delate and Brinker got into a tight dual but it was Delate leaving with the 6-2, 6-3, win.

The owls are back to action tomorrow, Oct. 1, when they travel t Arcadia for a 4:00 pm match with the Knights.
