No. 2 Doubles Victorious Against Mules

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The No. 2 doubles tandem of junior classmates Catherine Austin and Jenny Vogel provided the Owls with their lone victory of the afternoon as host Muhlenberg topped the Owls 8-1.

In their match, Austin and Vogel had their hands full with Jennifer Goldberg and Sharen Resnikoff as both duos led at one point of the match before the Owls pulled out the 8-6 win.

The No. 3 duo of freshman Kendall Baller and junior Rachel Genovese fell 8-6 to Amanda von Taube and Gabriela Contino while the No. 1 duo of junior Vivien Chen and freshman Melina Koukoutchos fell 8-1.

In singles play, Koukoutchos went three sets to decide her match with Goldberg, 6-1, 4-6, 10-7. In the top slot, Chen and Nina Sanders battled before Sanders posted a 6-2, 7-5, win. In the No. 2 position, Vogel lost to Emily Szulman 6-0, 6-1, and Baller dropped her No. four showdown 6-0, 6-2, to Resnikoff. In the 5th position, Austin was blanked by von Taube 6-0, 6-0, while freshman Tirsa Delate lost her No. 6 match 6-2, 6-1.

The Owls will travel to tri-co rival Swarthmore on Friday April 19, for a 5:00 m clash with the Garnet.
