Misericordia Tops Tennis 7-2

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Visiting Misericordia topped the Owls 7-2 Tuesday evening in non-conference action.

Bryn Mawr's only victory in doubles action came from the third spot as freshman Kendall Baller and sophomore Rachel Genovese 9-8 (3) as they defeated Brittany Bressler and Emily Hullings. 

In other doubles action, the No. 1 duo of juniors Vivien Chen and Jenny Vogel fell to Michelle Cameron and Cassie Foy 8-5. At the second spot, Emily Gherghel and Breanne Phillips downed junior Catherine Austin and freshman Melina Koukoutchos 8-4.

Bryn Mawr's lone win in singles came from the No. 6 spot as freshman Amelia Arnold beat Brittany Bressler 6-3, 7-5.

From the No. 1 position, Chen fell 6-0, 6-3, while Vogel dropped her second slot match 6-0, 6-4. From the third spot, Koukoutchos lost to Phillips while freshman Kendal Baller dropped her No. 4 match 6-3, 6-3. From the fifth position, Austin fell to Hullings 6-2, 4-6 (5). 

With the loss the Owls drop to 4-5 on the season. They return to action on Saturday, April 6, when they host Dickinson College at 1:00 pm.
