Swimmer Jordan Schwartz Awarded Atlanta Braves Foundation Grant
The Children's Bilingual Theater, founded by junior swimmer Jordan Schwartz, was awarded a 2013 Atlanta Braves Foundation Grant. This award will fund initiatives including after-school programs, health and wellness efforts, anti-bullying campaigns, educational projects, athletic programs and more.
The theater will use the grant to support Mr. Ooba's TEAM, an original children's short play written by Schwartz and adapted as a touring theatrical anti-bullying campaign that addresses bullying of children who are developmentally disabled and medically fragile.
Since its inception in 1992, the Atlanta Braves Foundation has provided support and resources to thousands of metro Atlanta-based organizations. It has contributed more than $5.3 million in financial assistance to the community. Held during a special pregame reception, the Braves awarded $175,000 in grants to 31 deserving recipients.
