Davis and Craig Lead Owls at Day 2 of Swimming Championships

LANCASTER, Pa. – The 100 butterfly tandem of senior Meredith Davis and freshman Rebecca Craig took home 2nd and 7th, respectively, in day two action of the 2013 Centennial Conference Swimming Championships.

Davis finished the four-lap race in a time of 59.10, just under two seconds behind race winner Supriya Davis of Swarthmore. Craig, who finished tied for 7th place, posted a time of 1:01.70 along with Stephanie Brooks from Franklin & Marshall.

The 200 medley relay of Craig, Davis, and freshman Abigail Johnson and Angela Mastrianni claimed seventh place with a time of 1:59.16. The 200 free relay of freshman Sahara Clement, sophomore Kristina Xiang, junior Ruth Logan and senior Hannah Gilbert swam to a an 8th place finish with a time of 8:33.16.

The end of day two, the Owls are in 8th place with 145.5 points. Ursinus held on to their day 1 lead to take an 11-point lead over Gettysburg into day three action. F&M is third, followed by Dickinson, Swarthmore, McDaniel and Washington.

Day three will conclude with the 1650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast and 200 butterfly preliminaries in the morning starting at 10:00 am. Finals will begin at 6:00 pm and the weekend will finish with the swimming of the 400 free relay.
