Swimming Opens Centennial Conference Championship
LANCASTER, Pa. - The Bryn Mawr College swim team completed day one action of the 2013 Centennial Conference Swimming Championships hosted by Franklin and Marshall College.
The only individual swimmer to qualify for finals, senior Meredith Davis, took home 6th place in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.08. She entered the evening session seeded 4th following preliminaries where she qualified with a time of 24.97.
The evening started off with 200 free relay of freshmen Sahara Clement and Rebecca Craig, sophomore Kristina Xiang and Davis took home 8th place with a 1:45.20. The night concluded as the 400 medley relay of Craig, Davis, freshman Angela Mastrianni and Xiang claimed 7th place with a time of 4:18.81.
The Owls open up action on Saturday with preliminaries at 10:00 am. Events for Saturday morning include the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breaststroke and 100 back. Tomorrow night, finals heats as well as the 200 medley and 800 free relays will take place starting at 6:00 pm.
Bryn Mawr is currently in 7th place with 65 team points, four points ahead of Washington College. Ursinus leads the standings with 195 points followed by Gettysburg (183), Dickinson (157), F&M (156), Swarthmore (138) and McDaniel (105).
