BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr College soccer team opened-up their 2013 Centennial Conference schedule, but it wasn't the way they envisioned it. The Owls fell to visiting McDaniel 3-0.
After battling for nearly the entire first-half, McDaniel got on the board in the 43rd minute when Allie Sokolik tallied a goal for the Green Terror right before the half.
Coming out of the half, Nicole Hill took a Maggie Quinn pass and found the back of the goal in the 47th minute. Six minutes later, Julia Pope gave McDaniel a 3-0 lead when she scored with help from Christina Wroblewski.
With the win, McDaniel improves to 5-2 overall and 1-1 in conference action while Bryn Mawr falls to 1-6 ion the season and 0-1 in league action.
For the Owls, junior Marcela Dorfsman-Hopkins took a team-high two shots while senior Dakota Jackson, freshman Madeleine Mark, sophomores Alice Bell, Nina Bertolami and Alexandra Wiegel each took one. In the goal, sophomore Aviva Kosansky posted seven saves in her 90-minutes of work.
Bryn Mawr is back to action when they play host to Ursinus College on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 4:00 pm on Applebee Field.
