RADNOR, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr College soccer team took the short trip to Cabrini College Tuesday afternoon, however, a pair of second-half goals led the host Cavaliers to a 2-0 win in non-league action.
After battling during the opening 45 minutes of the game to a 0-0 halftime score, the Owls were looking to make their mark in the second-half.
Just three minutes into the second, Cabrini's Dana Peterson broke the scoreless contest with an unassisted goal. Bryn Mawr's attack took flight as they took five shots, three more than the first-half, but were unable to find the back of the net to tie the game at one a piece.
In the 74th minute, the Cavaliers added an insurance goal as Devon Miller netted the tally unassisted. The Cabrini defense held the Owls at bay the remaining sixteen minutes to pick-up their second win of the season.
Sophomore Hannah Broderick paced the Owls offense with a pair of shots while her classmates Allegra Levy, Helena Van Oudenallen, Veronica Roux and Alexandra Wiegel as well as freshman Madeleine Mark took on shot each. Sophomore goalie Aviva Kosansky posted seven saves on the afternoon.
Bryn Mawr is back to action when they open their Centennial conference slate on Saturday, Sept. 21, as they host McDaniel College at 1:00 pm on Applebee Field.
