BALTIMORE, Md. – Johns Hopkins tallied three goals in first half as they cruised to a 4-0 Centennial Conference win Saturday afternoon in the Charm City.
Bryn Mawr and Johns Hopkins started the game with a battle in the midfield before the Blue Jays were able to punch in a goal from Hannah Kronick in the 14th minute. Seven minutes later, Sydeny Teng made it 2-0 for Hopkins with her goal in the 21st minute.
The 22nd ranked Blue Jays pushed their lead to 3-0 with a goal in the 27th minute by Maria Touloumes. Both teams went back and forth the final twenty three minutes of the half with Johns Hopkins clinching to their 3-0 lead at the half.
Two minutes into the second-half, Teng picked-up her second goal of the game. The rest of the way, the Owls held conference's top-ranked team scoreless.
Bryn Mawr was led offensively by freshman Hannah Broderick with three shots. Sophomore Marian Slocum and junior Karina Siu added one shot each for the Yellow and White. In goal for the Owls, senior co-captain Rebecca Joseph posted four saves.
The Owls travel to Swarthmore on Wednesday, Oct. 24, for a 7:00 pm showdown.
