BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Ferocious Four from the soccer team, Emily Bartell, Rebecca Joseph, Veronika Mohr and Misha Sims were each honored before the start of Saturday's Bryn Mawr-Gettysburg game on Senior Day. As for the game, the Bullet soar past the Owls 7-0.
The game started-off as a battle of the midfield. Both team were able to push into their offensive side of the field numerous times, but consistent play in the midfield worked more than 30-minutes off the clock.
Gettysburg broke the ice at 33:43 when Melissa Seidner found the back of the net on a shot from the right side of the box. The Bullets added to their lead less than five minutes later when Becca Kent lofted a pass from Lauren Schapiro over the head of Joseph that hit the bottom of the crossbar before spinning into the net.
With just over three minutes left in the opening half, Tara Crowley made a one-touch shot from the top of the box get past a diving Joseph. The Bullets would hold on to the 3-0 lead and take into the intermission.
In the second, Gettysburg tacked-on four more goals highlighted by a header by Jill Baltz off a corner kick by Sarah Alesio. Baltz's goal made the game 4-0 at 49:11.
Bryn Mawr is back to action when they host Bi-Co rival Haverford on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 4:00 pm.
