Bryn Mawr Athletics is pleased to announce the hire of Marynann Miller, who will be joining the owls as the Assistant Lacrosse Coach.
"I am extremely grateful for this amazing opportunity. I am looking forward to working with Coach Barnes and making a contribution to the growth of the lacrosse program at Bryn Mawr" said Miller upon the acceptance of her position.
Maryann Miller a Philadelphia native, was a five-year starter for Hofstra University. Where she served as team captain during her senior year, and was named to the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Women's Lacrosse All-Tournament Team Throughout her career. Maryann also received the CAA Commissioner's Academic Award (09-13), IWLCA Academic Honor Roll (09-13), and CAA Rookie of the Week honors.
After graduating from Hofstra, she attended the University of Pennsylvania where she earned a Master's Degree in Education. She is now a full-time Reading Specialist in Ridley School District. In addition to teaching in Ridley, Miller has been involved in the Ridley youth lacrosse program for a number of years, and has most recently served as an assistant coach for Ridley High School's varsity lacrosse team. Miller is also a current lacrosse coach for NXT where she helps coach various camps and clinics in the Philadelphia area.
When asked about her coaching philosophy Miller noted that her "philosophy has a strong emphasis on work ethic and attitude, if you bring those two things to your craft you can be successful at whatever you set out to do!".
Millers experience as a former athlete and coach will certainly help bring Bryn Mawr's lacrosse program to the next level.
