Lacrosse Suffers Tough Loss in Conference Opener

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Bryn Mawr lacrosse team hit the road for their first Centennial Conference game of the season earlier Saturday afternoon. The Owls traveled up to Muhlenberg to take on the high-powered Mules attack. Despite a strong effort from the Bryn Mawr defense and goalkeeper Katie Alpert, it was Muhlenberg who took control of this one from the start en route to a 19-0 win.

The hosts got on the board early in the contest, striking first with a goal 20 seconds into the game off the stick of Amanda Tullo. That would be all Muhlenberg needed to get the W, as Bryn Mawr was unable to register a shot against the stingy Mules defense. Alpert once again made some terrific saves on the day, ultimately racking up 14 total stops in the game. Muhlenberg got scoring from 13 different players, however, led by a hat-trick from Jordy Bonvini.

Bryn Mawr will look to rebound from today's tough loss when they get back in action next week. The Owls will play their final non-conference game of the 2017 campaign on Tuesday, March 28th when they travel down the road to Bryn Athyn. The Owls have lost all four games played against Bryn Athyn in program history, but they'll have a great chance to get win number one when the two teams face off at 7:00 PM on Tuesday night.
