CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Sophomore Claire Johnson scored Bryn Mawr's only goal Wednesday night as the Owls fell to the Washington College Shorewomen 17-1 in conference action.
Washington scored two goals in the game's opening 30-seoncds of play. The Shorewomen added eight more goals during a span of 22 minutes to take a commanding 10-0 lead.
With under a minute left in the first-half, Johnson scored Bryn Mawr's only game of the contest with an unassisted tally.
Washington took the 10-1 lead into the half.
In the second, the Shorewomen tacked on seven more goals from four different players to secure their seventh win of the season and third in Centennial play.
For the Owls freshman goalie Katie Alpert posted 14 saves and a team-high three ground balls. Sophomore Georgina Dominique and senior Katherine Kilmer combined for five draws. Senior Alyssa Young added two ground balls.
The owls are back to action when they host Haverford College on Saturday, April 12, at 1:00 pm.
