SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Junior Kathleen Magner led the Owls with three goals Thursday evening but it wasn't enough as the host, Swarthmore Garnet, defeated Bryn Mawr 21-4 in Centennial Conference action.
Swarthmore scored 10 goals in the opening ten minutes of action before Magner recorded her first goal of the game on a free position shot with 13:53 left in the half. Following a Corrinne Sommi goal for Swarthmore, Magner notched her second on the game on another free position shot.
After another Sommi goal, the Garnet's led increased to 12-2, but with thirty-seven seconds left in the half, freshman Georgina Dominique recorded her only goal of the game. Swarthmore held a nine-goal lead heading into halftime, 12-3.
The Owls' only goal in the second-half was an unassisted goal by Magner with 23:01 to play in the game. Swarthmore tallied nine second-half goals as they cruised to their 7th win of the season.
Sophomore goalie Grace Baelen-King posted six saves for the Owl while scooping up a team-high six groundballs. Magner led Bryn Mawr with five draw controls and three caused turnovers.
The Owls are back to action when they travel to Lancaster for a 4:00 pm conference showdown with Franklin & Marshall on Wednesday, April 3.
