BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Junior Kathleen Magner recorded all three of Bryn Mawr's goals Tuesday afternoon as the Owls lost to Arcadia, 18-3, in non-league action.
Arcadia's Dawn Faranetta scored the first goal of the game only 28-seconds after the opening draw. Magner netted her first goal of the game 12-seconds later as she gained possession from the draw and sprinted towards the net blasting her shot past Deanna Thompson to tie the game at 1-1.
The Knights scored thirteen unanswered goals during a 20 minute span to take a 14-1 lead with just under seven minutes to play in the half. Both teams battled the remaining seven minutes but it was Arcadia that held the 13-goal lead at the half.
In the second half, Arcadia added two more goals before back-to-back goals from Magner made the 16-3. Magner's second goal was way of a free position shot.
The Knights tacked-on two more goals in the final ten minutes of the game to claim their first victory of the season, 18-3.
Leading the Knights was Faranetta and Meghan Fallon with four goals each while Faranetta and Haylee Molloy handed out three assists a piece.
The sophomore goalie tandem of Grace Baelen-King and Katie Fong combined for nine saves on the day. Baelen-King led the Owls with six groundballs while Magner scooped-up five. Magner added eight draw controls as freshman Claire Johnson grabbed four.
The Owls return to action when they host Centennial Conference foe Dickinson to Applebee Field on Saturday, March 23, at 1:00 pm.
