COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Senior Nicolette Parmese netted a game-high 13 points but it wasn't enough as the host Bears topped the Owls 79-22 in non-conference action Thursday night.
Ursinus jumped out to an early 14-0 lead before junior Ashton Dwyer sunk a three-pointer at 14:50 to get the Owls on the board. Bryn Mawr was held scoreless over the next four minutes until Parmese connected on an 8-foot jumper.
During a two-minute span, sophomore Veronica Roux and Parmese combined for four points as Roux made a pair of free throws at 3:12 and Parmese added a jump shot at 1:18. At the half, Ursinus held a commanding 55-9 lead.
Bryn Mawr tallied 13 points in the second-half with Parmese leading the charge with nine points. Roux and freshman Tosin Ajiboye added two points each for the Owls. Parmese ended the half with five rounds.
Parmese added a team-high seven rebounds and three blocks in addition to her double-digit output. Roux added four points and four rebounds while Dwyer added three assists. Ajiboye ended the night with two points while classmate Adriana Castilla-Hernandez pulled-down six rebounds.
The Owls are back to the hardwood when they travel to Gettysburg on Saturday, Feb. 1, for a 7:00 pm match-up with the Bullets.
