BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Senior Nicolette Parmese led the Owls with 15 points and 13 rebounds as Bryn Mawr fell to visiting Bryn Athyn College 65-29 in non-conference action Wednesday night.
The Owls got off to a slow start as they were held scoreless over the opening six minutes of the game. Bryn Mawr finally got on the board when freshman Adriana Castilla-Hernandez made a baseline jumper.
Bryn Mawr added nine points over the final 13 minutes of the half. Parmese led the charge with four points while sophomore Veronica Roux and junior Saira Kitagawa added two points each. Junior Holly Constants added a free-throw.
At the half, the Lions held a commanding 40-11 lead.
In the second-half, Bryn Mawr pulled within 27 points, 48-21, with just under 13 minutes to play. Parmese posted 11 points in the second-half by shooting 5-8 from the field and connected on a free-throw.
Bryn Athyn was led by Kristina Clark with 21 points, 15 rebounds and two blocks. Bianca Feliciano added 17 points and six assists.
In addition to her double-double, Parmese recorded a pair of blocks and two steals in 34 minutes of action. Roux added 11 rebounds and five points while Castilla-Hernandez pulled down eight boards.
Helping the Owls on the sideline for tonight's game was sociology professor David Karen and Interim President Kim Cassidy.
The Owls are back to the hardwood on Monday, Jan. 27, when they travel to PSU-Brandywine for a 7:00 pm tip-off.
