BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Freshman Adriana Castilla-Hernandez netted a career-high five points but it wasn't enough as the visiting Haverford College Fords down the Owls 87-28 in non-league action Thursday night.
Bryn Mawr was held to just four points over the opening five minutes of the game as senior Nicolette Parmese and Castilla-Hernandez found the bottom of the net one time each. The Owls were held scoreless over the next four minutes before junior Ashton Dwyer drained a shot from beyond the arc.
With 10 minutes to play in the opening half, the Fords held a commanding 25-7 lead. The Owls were held to five points over the final 10 minutes of the half with Dwyer making a basket at 5:18 and Parmese getting an and one at 3:11. Haverford took a 45-12 lead into the locker room.
In the second-half, Haverford outscored Bryn Mawr 42-16. The Owls were held to just seven points over the opening 8 minutes of the half with sophomore Veronica Roux netting four of them.
Haverford was led by Nina Voith with 16 points. Cara Wyant and Hope Rainey added 12 and 10 points, respectively.
For the Owls, Parmese led the team with 13 points while Roux added four. Roux grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds while Dwyer dished-out a pair of assists.
The Owls are back to action when they host Bryn Athyn College on Wednesday, Jan. 22, at 7:00 pm inside the Class of 1958 Gymnasium.
