Mules Down Basketball in Centennial Conference Tilt

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Visiting Muhlenberg took a 21-point lead into the half as they defeated Bryn Mawr 77-43 Wednesday evening on the Main Line.

Bryn Mawr jumped out to an early 4-1 lead, but then was held scoreless for the next 6:31 as the Mules took a commanding 16-4 lead with 12:29 to play in the half. Junior Nicolette Parmese rattled off a pair of baskets before the Muhlenberg defense stepped in and held Bryn Mawr's offense to only two points over the next eight minutes.

Freshman Liandra Curtis got the Owls back in scoring fashion with a layup. Her basket was followed by back-to-back layups from classmates Jackie Handy and Parmese. With three seconds remaining on the board, senior Aislinn Toohey made one free-throw as Muhlenberg took a 39-18 lead into the half.

The second faired a little better for the Owls despite getting outscored 38-25. Parmese led the Yellow and white with eight points in the second while Curtis chipped-in six. Freshman Ashlee Williams pulled-down six of her game-high 11 rebounds in the second frame.

Parmese ended the night with a game-high 17 points while Handy earned her third double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Curtis posted a career-high eight rebounds while adding eight points.

The Mules were led by Kate Clawson and Alita Zabrecky with 13 and 10 points, respectably.

The Owls return to action when they travel to Dickinson College this Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 pm.
