BRYN MAWR, Pa. – In their first game of the New Year, freshman Ashlee Williams scored a game-best 14 points as the Owls fell to visiting Dickinson College, 71-39, Saturday afternoon in league action.
Down seven points early, Bryn Mawr battled back to pull within one, 12-11, with 10:19 to play. However, the Red Devils held Bryn Mawr scoreless for the next five minutes to help them take a commanding 13-point lead, 24-11.
The Owls pulled within 12, 26-14, with 3:55 left in the opening half, the closest they were able to get to Dickinson the remainder of the game.
In the second-half, Williams led the Owls with nine points while junior Jackie Handy added eight points.
Handy posted her first double-double of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds as Williams tallied seven boards. Junior Nicolette Parmese added nine points for the Owls off the bench.
Bryn Mawr is back to action on Tuesday, Jan. 8, when they play host to PSU-Brandywine at 7:00 pm inside the Class of 1958 Gymnasium
