ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Junior Nicolette Parmese totaled 14 points and 10 rebounds en route to her second double-double of the season. Despite the night from Parmese, the Owls were unable to overcome a 28-point halftime deficit as they fell to Muhlenberg, 100-34, Wednesday night in conference action.
The Mules opened the game with a 9-1 run in the first five minutes of action. The Owls got on the board when Parmese made one of two free-throws at 15:42. With ten minutes left in the half, Muhlenberg held tight to a 21-8 lead.
Over the final 10-minutes of the first-half, Muhlenberg outscored the Owls 24-9, as they held a commanding 45-17 lead at the half. At the half, sophomore Ashton Dwyer led the Owls with six points as she was a perfect 2-for-2 from beyond the arch. Junior Jackie Handy and Parmese each tallied four points.
After a pair of layups from Parmese and a jumper from freshman Ashlee Williams to start the half, the Owls offense was held scoreless for 6:20 as Muhlenberg add to their lead to take a 72-24 lead with 10:17 left in the game.
The Mules continued to add to their lead as they eventually reached the century mark, 100 points, with 30-seconds left in the game.
Bryn Mawr closed out the game with Parmese making one-of-two free-throws before grabbing her own rebound and laying the ball back in with twelve ticks remaining.
In addition to Parmese's double-double, Handy and Williams both added six points and five rebounds each. Off the bench, sophomore Quinn Conlan grabbed four board and added two points.
The Owls are back to action when they return to the Main Line as they host McDaniel College on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 2:00 pm.
