CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - This weekend the Bryn Mawr Rowing team embarked on a journey to Boston, Massachusetts for the Head of the Charles Regatta. A Regatta that featured teams from across all Divisions and talents of various levels.
On day one, Bryn Mawr's novice four boat raced in the Women's Club Fours and landed a 49th place finish out of 53 participating teams with a time of 22:34.311. The varsity 4 boat consisted of Stephanie Montalvan, Lina Oppenheimer, Aurielle Hampton, Sophia McConnell and Ritvika Patodia. Bryn Mawr faced tough Division I competition but was able to beat out schools such as Boston College, Duke University, and University of Rhode Island.
Day two was the varsity 4 boat's turn to hit the water. The squad competed in the Women's Collegiate Fours and was looking for a strong finish. After much anticipation the team landed a 16th place finish out of 36 competing teams with a time of 19:12.021. Additionally, the team was able to beat out their Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) school, Franklin and Marshall well as institutions such as Bowdoin College, UMass Lowell, and Bryant University. The varsity four boat consisted of Hannah Campbell, Emily Spiegel, Madison Barchas, Sovigne Gardner, and Samantha Forestier.
Bryn Mawr will return to action next Sunday, October 29th for the Seven Sisters Championship Regatta that will be hosted by Simmons College.
