BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr College field hockey team fell to visiting Muhlenberg College 6-0 Wednesday afternoon in Centennial Conference action.
The Mules jumped on the board when Kayleigh Thies netted the game's first goal at 5:34 with help from Christine Germaske. Roughly nine minutes later, Theis netted an unassisted goal to give Muhlenberg a 2-0 lead.
Two minutes later, Emily Boyle fed Meghan Gill a pass to push the Mules' lead to three. A minute and a half later, Gill fed Lauren Jordan a pass that found the back of the cage as Muhlenberg took the 4-0 lead. The score remained the same as the first-half came to an end.
In the second, Muhlenberg tacked-on two more goals, one from Rachel Strow and the other from Dayna Hovern to help the Mules claim their third win of the season and second in conference play.
Bryn Mawr took nine shots on the day as juniors Madison Beckmann and Holly Constants as well as sophomore Kayla Bixler took three tries each. In the goal, senior Faith Westdorp posted six saves in her seventy-minutes of work.
The Owls return to action when they play host to Dickinson College on Saturday, Oct. 5. Game time is set for 1:00 pm.
