Beckmann Tallies Second Goal of the Season at McDaniel

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Junior Madison Beckmann scored her second goal of the season but it wasn't enough as the Owls fell to McDaniel 5-1 in conference play Saturday afternoon.

It didn't take the Terror long to get on the board as Lara Haab scored on a Sara Reynolds pass just 5:23 into the game.

Beckmann's goal, with help from sophomore Kayla Bixler, came nine minutes later to tie the game at 1-1. However, Haab tallied back-to-back goals at 19:31 and 27:05, to give McDaniel a 3-1 lead at the half.

In the second, it was Haab again, scoring in the 37th minute to push the Green Terror's lead to 4-1. With less than seven minutes to play, Erica DeColli took a Julie Little pass and found the back of the goal to secure McDaniel their fourth win of the season and first in conference action.

Bixler led the Owls with two shots while Beckmann, senior Mikah Farbo and freshman Haley Newsham added one shots each.  Senior goalie Faith Westdorp turned away 13 Green Terror shots.

The Owls return to action when they travel to Franklin & Marshall on Saturday, Sept. 26, for a 1:00 pm contest with the Diplomats.
