BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr College field hockey team was held scoreless as visiting McDaniel College defeated the Owls 4-0 in Bryn Mawr's Centennial Conference home opener.
The Green Terror scored three first-half goals, all from the stick of Jayde Kauffman. Kauffman's first goal came at 2:28 when she took a pass from Paige Messermsith in front of the goal to give McDaniel a 1-0 lead. After nearly 14-minutes of scoreless action, Danielle DeColli fed Kauffman for another goal at 16:27. Less than five minutes later, Kauffman netted an unassisted goal to give the Terror a commanding 3-0 lead heading into the half.
In the second-half, Sara Reynolds took a pass from Katie Corson to make it 4-0 McDaniel. The Green Terror held on for the victory as they earned their first conference win of the season.
Offensively, the Owls were led by sophomore Madison Beckmann with two shots while four others recorded shots.
Bryn Mawr returns to action when they travel to Cedar Crest on Tuesday, Sept. 25, for a 4:00 pm non-league showdown.
