BRYN MAWR, Pa. - Bryn Mawr College is pleased to announce the hiring of Kayla Lawrence to serve as the Owls Assistant Athletic Communications Director, a two year Ethnic Minority and Women grant position appointed through the NCAA Division III.
The competitive and prestigious grant provides funding for entry level athletic administrative positions at Division III institutions and conference offices to encourage access, recruitment, selection and the long term success of minorities and women. The NCAA awarded 20 deserving institutions and conference offices the grant for the next two years.
Lawrence joins the Bryn Mawr athletic staff as a recent graduate of Sacred Heart University. At her Undergrad institution she graduated with a Bachelors of Arts and Science in Communications (Advertising and Public Relations) and Marketing. Lawrence brings experience from being the Creative Marketing Chair of Sacred Heart University's Public Relations Club where she helped raise awareness of events to reach the student body through advertisements and designs.
Lawrence was deeply rooted in her academics while at Sacred Heart University and recognized as a Dean's list recipient for 3 consecutive semesters which lead the way to her acceptance into the Communication National Honor Society in 2016.
Aside from her marketing experience the former pioneer was additionally a Division I track and field student-athlete. This past year she had the opportunity of being one of the captains of her team, where she served as a liaison for both coaches and student athletes and helped lead her team to become indoor and outdoor Northeast Conference Champions. Additionally, Lawrence holds many school records in the 400m, 500m and various relay, and certainly has left her mark at Sacred Heart University and has high hopes in doing the same at Bryn Mawr College.
